amsterdam - 10 april - 15 april
the LUUMS symphonic wind orchestra went on tour to amsterdam!!! we went for five days and came back on saturday in time to catch easter.
10 april 06
so we left on monday late in the afternoon from the parkinson steps on a coach to Hull to catch an overnight ferry boat to amsterdam. the coach ride was about an hour and a half or two. nice coach. retarded driver. but i'll explain more later. quite comfy-ish. so we got onto the ferry, set up our cabins, and then headed straight for the bar.

that's the cabin we stayed in....i think i stayed on the top bunk on every bed for the whole trip. aaahhh, it's a bit dangerous getting down half asleep in the morning. i shared the ferry cabin with ursela, laura and luisa.
11 april 06
the next morning we had to get up at about 6:30am to leave the ferry (which was 5:30am british time for us) and board the coach again to be on our way to the hostel. we couldn't check in until 2pm so we just did a bit of wandering around the city of amsterdam.

later on at 4pm we had a rehearsal for our concert in the evening. unfortunately i didn't get to catch any pictures of that one but other people did so i'll get pix off them soon!!! well it was in a big and friggin cold church, i felt like i was playing a french horn made out of ice.
anyways, after the concert we headed out for more drinkie drinks!!!

SOOOOOOOOO then we went home and crashed and didn't wake up in time for breakfast the next day. well at least i didn't.

the next day we went to the van gogh museum, it was nice. it was too crowded though. i still prefer the dali museum in london. we had another concert that night, and again i don't have any pix from it damn it! but AFTER we went straight out and partied hard because it was our last concert in amsterdam. there was this place with discount cocktails.

so after that bar we went out cuz it was closing.......and we ended up finding coffeeshops......i tried the sponge cake...............................and then we ended up in another bar.....smoking things.

so then we all went home. and i woke up in the morning and forgot how i got into my bed.

we wandered off into this place called Kische Kitchen that sold all this random stuff!!! it was fun
so after that, we had lunch and separated to do some things......i ended up going to the sex museum with laura and clare........oh man, it was a bit more disturbing than interesting. that's me standing beside a gigantic willie.
and then we went out drinking again at night.

the next day we went on a canal tour

there was a floating chinese restaurant
a boat scarecrow
so later on in the day we just did more wandering around and did some souvenier shopping ish. for dinner we all got together and had japanese at wagamama. it was DELICIOUS.
i always found it funny whenever we went around in a big group because there are 50 of us all together. wherever we choose to go, we cause staff extreme panic attacks because there are so many of us and so little of them. it happened at everybar, every cafe, every restaurant, and every coffee shop we've ever went to. hahaha YeaAAa.
so at this japanese restaurant, they forgot all about my meal and so they gave it to me for free. excellent.
later at night we boarded the ferry once again, although we thought we would never make it because our coach driver is a stupid idiot. he kept driving in circles and getting lost. he gets lost all the time. we passed the same sites at least 3 times before he got on the right road. we had to check in at 8pm. the ferry leaves at 9pm. and we didn't arrive at the site until 8:45pm. and we didn't get onto the ferry until 8:55pm or something because the driver didn't know how to enter the site!!! oh man. i think he needs to be fired. but we ended up just on time. imagine if we missed the ferry!!!! stupid retard
anyways, once on the ferry we drank again. and did some awards and stuff
